Saliva helps the body to digest solid food and keeps the mouth, nose and eyes moist. Water is the main component of saliva. It adds some amount of electrolytes, enzymes and mucus to food during mastication which helps to break solid food. Saliva is regularly produced by the body when you balance the intake of fluid.
