Wheat bran is the hardest outer covering of wheat kernel and germ is the nutrient-rich core having veraity of nutrients exist there. Germ makes up about 8% of the total kernel.

Wheat germ oil is produced from the nutrient-dense core known as germ or embryo that feeds plants to grow. So, it is clear that the most of ingredients, compounds and chemicals used or needed are found in the germ.

Basically, the germ is the byproduct of agricultural commodities containing 10-14% of oil which is then extracted by the process of solvent extraction and pressing.

This oil has a lot of applications in our daily life from medical to therapeutic purposes because it is rich in nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and other related compounds.

Wheat germ oil is one of the natural products which is rich in nutrients. It is made of phytosterol and triglycerides. Then these triglycerides are split into fatty acids including linoleic acid (vitamin E), linolenic acid (omega 3), and oleic acid (provitamin A). It has healthy plant protein, fibre, vitamins, and other minerals such as zinc, iron and potassium. At the same time, it contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial components.
